Global ranking of IITs
There is some concern about the declining rank of IITs at a time when demand for IIT graduates is at all time high. SA to PM is quoted in the press saying that there is no institute in India which is world class. Institutes like IIT are judged on several parameters and innovation is an important one. The 1997 report of MIT says that turnover of 4000 companies founded by MIT faculty & students is near that of South Africa's GDP. The incubation centers of IITs are brimming with activity & hope and we hope similar study will come from IITs soon.
